Kingston, North Carolina – The Down East Wood Ducks announced today that they will host a neutral-site high school football game between the Arendell Parrott Academy Patriots and the North Lenoir Hawks on Monday, March 14.
Grainger Stadium will be transformed into a soccer field with doors opening at 3 p.m. and kick-off scheduled for 4 p.m. Concessions will be available during the game, but outside food and drink will be prohibited.
“We are very pleased to welcome the Lady Patriots and the Hawks to Grainger Stadium,” Wood Ducks general manager Jon Clemmons said. “An event like this is great for the community and we look forward to continuing to build this event and to strengthen the reach and relationships within the community.”
Tickets for the football game can be purchased at the Grainger Stadium entrance gate on game day. Adult tickets will cost $7, students $3, and children 12 and under are free. Cash will only be accepted at the entrance gate for tickets.
“We think this is a great opportunity to develop women’s football,” said Arendell Parrott Academy head coach Shivar Peterson. “Showing a showcase like this with two Lenoir County teams at Grainger Stadium is going to grow the game of football and we hope to continue to do so and involve more teams over the next few years.”
“This is a great opportunity and very exciting,” North Lenoir Hawks head coach Wes Hazelgrove said. “The timing is perfect, it’s just after our first win of the season and the players feel confident and excited to take this opportunity.”
