Westbrook Boys’ Football Shuts Down Harding; Women’s soccer and field hockey take losses

Westbrook’s men’s soccer team scored their second victory of the year when the Knights netted a shutout against Harding last week. The Knights also suffered losses to East Hampton and Portland and are 2-7 overall for the season.

On September 27, Westbrook suffered a 3-0 road loss to East Hampton. Two days later, the Knights were on the road to take on Harding and won the game by a score of 5-0. Then, on October 1, Westbrook hosted Portland and suffered a 3-1 loss to the Highlanders. Sophomore Doug Perrone-Gray scored the only goal of the game for Westbrook.

Football Girls

The Westbrook women’s soccer team lost both of their scheduled games last week and are now 1-7 this year. The Knights suffered losses to East Hampton and Portland last week.

In its first game of the week, Westbrook lost a 3-1 decision to East Hampton in a home game on September 28. Two days later, the Knights played a home game against Portland and lost to the Highlanders by a score of 6-0. at Westbrook High School.

Field hockey

The Westbrook-Old Lyme (W-OL) field hockey team suffered two losses last week to move to 2-6 this season. The Knights dropped out of competitions against Morgan and Old Saybrook in action last week.

On September 27, W-OL played a road game against Morgan and suffered a 2-0 loss at the Indian River Complex. Three days later, the Knights hosted Old Saybrook and lost by a 7-0 score to Westbrook High School.
