Five Valley sports teams will play for the District 4 titles in soccer and field hockey on Thursday night.
District 4 officials have announced the times and venues for four championship soccer games and the 2A field hockey final this morning.
Tonight, the 3A football finals will be played in Middleburg, starting with the girls at 6 and the boys at 8. Only district champions will qualify for the state tournament next week.
On the girls’ side, seed Mifflinburg meets third seed and defending champion Selinsgrove in the first game at Midd-West, followed by boys from Danville-Selinsgrove.
On Thursday night in field hockey A, fifth-seeded Line Mountain will face third-seeded Bloomsburg at 7 p.m. at Selinsgrove High School. Both teams have already qualified for the States.
Also on Thursday, the District A and 2A champions for men’s and women’s football will be crowned.
Southern Columbia will have a dual program at Central Columbia. In the girls’ A final, the reigning state champion Southern will meet seeded South Williamsport at 6 p.m. Both teams have already qualified for Tournament State.
The boys from the South will face East Juniata at the end of the game at 8. Only the champion qualifies for the States.
The Midd-West and Lewisburg men’s teams meet in the District Playoffs for the sixth consecutive year when they face off for the Men’s 2A title at 6 p.m. at Loyalsock. Both teams qualified for the national tournament.
Lewisburg has beaten Midd-West in the last two district title games, while Midd-West has won a shootout in the semifinals in 2018. Lewisburg also beat the Mustangs in the final in 2016 and 2017.
In the girls 2A, the Central Columbia seed will meet the second seed Montoursville at 8 p.m. Thursday night in Danville. Both teams qualified for the States.
