Parenthood is a tricky business, especially when your child falls into the toddler age group. At this age, toddlers love to run and put whatever they can find in their mouths. And recently, a woman from Ohio faced her worst fear when she took her two-year-old son to watch a professional football game. As she looked away for her minute, the toddler rushed to the soccer field as the match was underway. The woman, after spotting her son, ran into the field and tackled him safely, before hugging him and rushing towards the stands.
An image of the incident was captured by photojournalist Sam Greene and shared on Twitter. “A young field invader was quickly picked up by his own personal security details without incident,” Greene, who works for The Cincinnati Enquirer, said on Twitter. It’s no surprise that the image quickly went viral.

According to a report published by Today, the incident occurred during the game between FC Cincinnati and the Orlando City SC game on August 7. The toddler was later identified as Zaydek Carpenter. Her mother is Morgan Tucker from Moscow, Ohio.
The official Major League Soccer Twitter page also tweeted an excerpt from the incident which divided users. Along with the clip, the tweet said, “We hope this mom and her young land invader have a good day.” Posted on August 9, the video received 245,100 views.

Speaking to Good Morning America about the incident, Ms Tucker said: “I literally looked away for a second and saw he was under the fence and I was like, ‘Oh my God. “She said she had to ‘jump over the gate’ sprint after him.” I was so afraid he would be hit in the head with a soccer ball. “
Ms Tucker said she asked her son why he made such a move. To that he had a fairly simple answer. Quoting him, she said, “Mum, soccer ball.” He was really in the game and when the players went to the other end of the field he wasn’t happy so he wanted them to be there with him.
Responding to the video of the incident, several users praised Ms. Tucker for her presence of mind and speed of action.
After watching the video, one user said toddlers have to be the fastest humans on Earth. “The little ones! The fastest humans on earth. If you haven’t had one of those 2 seconds of public knowledge, or should I say ‘shame’, are you a parent ?! “

So, did the mother-son duo stick around to watch the rest of the game? Well they did and they had a blast too, Mr Greene confirmed with another photo. “Zaydek and his mom had a great time playing the game,” he wrote.
