SOMERSET – Visiting Apponequet converted a field goal late in the fourth quarter and came away with a spectacular 29-27 victory over Somerset Berkley on Friday night at Somerset Berkley Regional High School.
It was the first victory of the season for the Lakers.
Senior running back Dylan Rodriguez scored three touchdowns for SB (0-4) – runs from 56, 52 and 30 yards, all in the second half.
Quarterback Owen Meehan scored a five-yard rush and had a two-point conversion.
Austin DeSouto scored an extra point.

The Bengals lost a close game with Tri-County.
Jayden Massey scored two touchdowns and rushed for 53 yards on 12 carries. Quarterback Jacob Furtado threw for 201 yards on 17 of 26 passes and one touchdown.
Wide receiver Alex Rivest caught 10 passes for 121 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown pass.
Diman (1-3) faces the South East this Friday.

Carys Carey scored two goals in the Raiders’ victory over Joseph Case.
Somerset Berkley’s other goal (3-4-3; 2-2-3 in SCC) was scored by captain Abby Shea. Jocelyn Wilson had two assists and Alyssa Cheetham had one.

The Lady Spartans defeated Seekonk, a non-league opponent
Taylor Oliveira scored two goals for Stang in the victory.
Izzie Bromage, Grace Geiger, Mattie Silvia and Lily Shields also found the back of the net. Help was provided by Kendyll Riedl, Shields and Bromage.
Stang will play against St. Mary’s on Saturday.

Kat Gauvin led Durfee (7-3-2) with two goals in the victory. Brooke Macedo had a goal and an assist while Josie Caine added an assist.
Goalkeeper Kailey Hutchinson completed the shutout in front of the net.

The Lady Tigers lost a close game to Cumberland.
Cassie Taber scored an unassisted goal for Tiverton.

The Lady Raiders won a big South Coast Conference game with Dighton-Rehoboth.
Lauren Rothwell scored two goals in SB’s victory (5-3-2).
Laney Martin and Karissa Albin each scored one goal. Ava Pontes and Reese Swanson had two assists in the victory. Sydney Dufresne made two saves in front of the net.
The Raiders play Wareham on Wednesday.

The Lady Cardinals were shut out by league opponents Old Rochester.
Goalkeeper Anna Michaud made four saves in goal for Case (7-1-1, 4-1-1 in SCC), who lost her first game of the year.
The Cardinals host Dighton-Rehoboth on Wednesday.

The undefeated Spartans won their 12th straight game defeating Bishop Feehan at the Heather Hills Golf Course.
Freshman Matt Oliveira was the weak medalist of the game for Stang with a 35 par for 36 points. Junior Kyle Farias shot another clear round with a 2-over 37 for 33 points.
Sophomore Matt Costello contributed a 38 for 30 points. Sophomore Michael Zeller and rookie Bianca Ligotti had their best rounds of the season 39 and 40, respectively.

The Lady Wildcats swept three straight sets – 25-12, 25-23 and 25-17 – against Avon.
Abby Gaudreau led Westport (11-1) with 20 assists. Madison Benson finished with eight fatal shots.
Sophia Terra had 11 fatal shots and Taylor Perry finished with 10 assists and four aces.
The Wildcats will play a rematch against West Bridgewater on Wednesday.

The Lady Cougars have won three of five sets – 13-25, 25-7, 18-25, 25-22 and 15-3 – against West Bridgewater.
With the win, Connolly (8-4) secures a playoff spot
Ashley Potvin led the Cougars with 10 fatal shots. Maggie Pabst added five kills while Devin Beaupré added six aces. Victoria Reid played well in the back row.
Connolly is heading to the southeast on Tuesday.
