Sacramento’s Katie Talbert had the biggest opportunity of her life when she recently signed with SL Benfica in Portugal, who play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. “It’s definitely the biggest signing I’ve had. It’s known as the biggest club in the world, as they call themselves,” Talbert said. Talbert started playing football at the age of 4. 15 and then I played for Sac United,” she said. From there, she played four years at Humboldt State. Starting in her freshman year, she would play for the California Storm every summer. The Sacramento-based club is a second division semi-professional team under the American football pyramid system. “It’s amazing and no one has ever believed in me as much as this team, especially Jamie and Liz,” Talbert said. OL Reign of the Women’s Football League, FH in Iceland and West Ham in London. She is now looking to show her skills on the world stage in Lisbon. “I hope to gain a lot of playing experience in a top team. I am also very excited to work with this team. It is top class,” Talbert said.

Talbert started playing football when he was 4 years old.
“My parents put me in competitive football playing for Boca Juniors until I was 15 and then I played for Sac United,” she said.
From there, she went on to play four years at Humboldt State. Starting in her freshman year, she would play for the California Storm every summer.

“It’s amazing and I’ve never had more confidence than this team, especially Jamie and Liz,” Talbert said.
She has spent time with OL Reign of the National Women’s Soccer League, FH in Iceland and West Ham in London.
