While Prince William and Kate Middleton have many tasks to fulfill as royalsthey also value their role as parents of three children. And the Duke of Cambridge was seen in dad mode last weekend when he went to cheer on his eldest son, Prince George8 years old, while playing in a game of football (or as the British call it, football).
In a pair of photos shared by The online rumble on Twitter, the Duke is seen standing with the opposing team (in a show of good sportsmanship), followed by a shot of action from Prince George looking focused midway through his match.
The caption read: “How wonderful! The Duke of Cambridge accompanied his son, Prince George, to a football match on Saturday!! » The online rumble also commented on how great Prince George appears in the photo, writing “Also…how BIG is George!” And fans agree, with one user commenting, “He’s going to be tall like his dad” and another adding, “George is going to be tall like his dad and mom!”
The love of football runs strong in this family. Prince William has been a strong supporter of English football club Aston Villa over the years, and as Prince George gets older he seems to be picking up on his father’s passion.
In 2019, the young royal was seen at the Carrow Road arena with his father, cheering loudly on Aston Villa during the game. Then, last June, father and son were spotted wear matching outfits at Wembley Stadium, joined by mum Kate Middleton. The trio even chatted with David Beckham before the match.
However, while the Duke often finds himself on the sidelines of football matches and is even the chairman of the Football Association of England, he is not known to play the sport often, instead opting for other games like polo. Nevertheless, it seems that the eldest of Will and Kate has taken a liking to the sport.
Do we have a future royal football star among us? Only time will tell.
