A PORT Macquarie teenager was airlifted to hospital after a stomach hit during a football game on Friday night. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 10:20 p.m. on Friday July 23 to perform an urgent medical recovery from Port Macquarie Hospital to John Hunter Hospital. The 16-year-old suffered an internal stomach injury after being hit with the ball while playing soccer. The young man was stabilized by the helicopter’s intensive care medical team before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in stable condition for further medical treatment.
