the U10 Impact Boys beat FC Berna 3-1 at home, with the match canceled at half-time due to thunder. Russell Wiggers, Ishaan Talwar and Aryan Grover each scored for the Impact, Grover only got one assist from Talwar.
the Flash Boys U8 played very well in a very tight 3-4 loss to Madison. Gavin Moskowitz opened the Flash scoring with a solid shot from 18 yards before quickly assisting on a trick goal from Eli Suna. Moskowitz continued to contribute, sending a corner kick to a perfectly positioned Owen Brasile for the third goal. Jax Thomases was a play-making forward while the defense was anchored by Will Blake and Ryan Lee. Sharing time in front of goal, Jeet Ghosh and Moskowitz both made superb saves.
the Women’s Force U12 lost their game against Berkeley Heights Breakaway 1-3 in Berkeley Heights. The visiting team put in a solid effort to block their opponent, save goals, dribble skillfully and make crisp passes. The Force allowed only one goal in the first half and helped the breakaway score again until the last 15 minutes of the game. Lydia Klimek scored for the Force from a penalty. Elizabeth Connant, Deborah Bryant and Klimek came close to scoring several times but narrowly missed. Amy Peckel and Sydney Sinnins did a great job in goal, making plenty of saves. All in all, it was an interesting game.
the Boys Bandits U9 lost a hard-fought game 2-8 to the Titanes Barracudas at home. The Bandits put in maximum effort all around and played fierce defense against their top ranked opponent. Goals were scored by Henry Chao and Aiden Rosenblatt, with terrific defense provided by Jonah Grossman, Andy Shneyder and Arjun Kapur. Jack O’Neil and Henry Freyman added an offensive punch to the Bandits’ offense.
the Fusion Girls U13 fell to Watchung Hills Puma 0-4. Siobhan Bracken, Gillian Podell, Kelly Fitzsimmons and Danielle Marino helped keep the attacking pressure on the Pumas throughout, while Alex Sinins, Sophia Benitez, Krissy Kologlu and Julia Marell played hard in defence.
