If this was an attempt at mind games it certainly seemed like an odd direction to take as the former Republic of Ireland football international seemed elated with the present.
Taylor made 11 appearances for Ireland and scored two goals between 2006 and 2009, his last game being against tomorrow night’s opponents home country Kazakhstan.
Even though this is just a mandatory challenge for her WBA belt, Taylor has put all five of her belts up for grabs against the 27-year-old fighter who is a national treasure in her homeland.
The pair will face off in the Liverpool Arena tomorrow night.
