Jules Kounde of Spain’s Sevilla soccer team lost his temper dramatically on Tuesday night, being kicked out of a game for throwing a ball straight into the head of an opposing player.
The French defender received a consecutive red card after throwing the ball directly at Barcelona’s Jordi Alba in his side’s 1-1 draw against the Catalan side.
Sevilla took the advantage on the night in the 32nd minute thanks to a goal from Papu Gomez, before Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo equalized for the visitor at the stroke of half-time.
Spirits overflowed just after the hour mark when Alba burst into Kounde as he was about to make a throw-in, prompting the Frenchman to throw the ball in the Spaniard’s face. Kounde’s throw actually connected to Alba’s shoulder, but the defender fell dramatically, clutching his face and writhing in apparent agony on the ground.
The outburst of anger saw the 23-year-old receive a red card for the first time in his career.

Coach Julen Lopetegui spoke about the incident after the match, telling reporters: “Koundé knows he was wrong, he made small mistakes but today he is.
“It’s a matter of age, it surely won’t happen again.”
The Spanish boss added when asked if he had spoken to the player: “A bad day at the office happens to anyone. He is a very smart guy, very young and as a young man he has wrong, he fell into the rival trap but he will surely learn a lesson from it. “
English Premier League side Chelsea made several offers to buy Kounde from Sevilla over the summer but saw their offers rejected by La Liga side, according to Sports Illustrated.
Sevilla have said the France international could leave if Chelsea pay their $ 90million release clause, but the London club have deemed the fees too high.
In an interview with TF1, by Sports Illustrated, in November, Kounde hinted that he was disappointed that the proposed decision never materialized.
“Did it affect me? Yes, a little bit, but now I’ve dealt with it,” he said.
Kounde still wants to move to Chelsea and ESPN claim the Blues’ hopes of finally landing him have now gained new momentum, with Sevilla set to lower their asking price to $ 56million for the star next summer.
