BROWNS SUMMIT – Recent Fred T. Foard graduate Alexis Wolgemuth shone in her last game as a high school football player, earning Most Valuable Player honors at the annual East-West All Football Game -Star Girls Tuesday at Macpherson Stadium. The Marshall University commitment played all 80 minutes in goal for the West team, which lost 1-0 but remained close throughout due to Wolgemuth’s performance between the posts.

The East team fired 30 shots on Wolgemuth, but only one found the back of the net. Laura Westerbeek of Athens Drive completed a breakaway in the 55th minute with an assist from Maggie Stephens of Hoggard.

The West team took just two shots in the contest, both in the second half. Meanwhile, the East All-Stars recorded 15 shots in each half and also held an 8-0 lead on corner kicks.
