We’ve been trying out “Destiny,” the next big game from the makers of “Halo” Bungie, since Monday, and we’ve already found two Easter Eggs, hidden features, that players should be having fun with… literally.
The main objective of the online game is to save the world from the alien races which have passed the Earth and other planets 700 years in the future.
When you don’t, players can visit the Tower, a social hub for players. Nestled in space is a bigger giant purple soccer ball and ball just waiting for players to find it.

The soccer ball hangs out on the left side of the board under stairs.

The larger purple ball can be found in the center of the tower hub on some crates to the right of the Bounty tracker.

You can toss the ball into the air and watch it float downward in a slow descent.

Others came to play too.
This guy totally stole the ball from me.

If you leave it alone for a while, it will disappear in its original place.

Don’t get frustrated if you don’t spot them right away. They are not present every time I visit the tower, but they seem to be there quite often.
Apparently these two items were also available in the Alpha and Beta previews of the game. I never noticed them.
Over the summer, a group of players got together to play soccer.

So why are they in “Destiny”? Better question, why not?
Bungie loves to add these kinds of fun little additions to their games.
Fans of “Halo” may recall that the ball appeared in various titles starting with “Halo 2” where a giant soccer ball was hidden like an Easter egg.
I can’t wait to see what other players start to do with this.
