Dying Light 2 has its fair share of secrets and Easter eggs. Some are quite useful, like the Korek making a bit of a comeback in the game. Others are just for novelty purposes if you need a break from making tough decisions and killing bandits and zombies. There’s a soccer (or fútbol) secret to the game that gives you a real ball to play with while doing something truly enigmatic. Here’s how you can get a soccer ball in Dying Light 2.
How to Get a Soccer Ball in Dying Light 2
It doesn’t matter how far you are in terms of story progression to get the football blueprint. In fact, it can be reached provided you climb far to Saint Joseph Hospital. There is a fenced area just to the north where you can see GRE quarantine tents set up inside. You will also notice the remains of what was a football pitch.
There is only one goal post, which makes things a little easier. In the center of the field there should be a soccer ball which you can move by moving alongside or using melee attacks. You must earn a cumulative total of 9 goals in different instances. You can’t just run the ball through the goal, bring it back to center field and start over.
The game will trigger a specific event of some Infected dancing in a party fanfare by doing this nine times and then you have to defeat it. It can take a long time to have to teleport/fast travel or save nine times to achieve this, especially if you’re using last-gen hardware like a PS4 or Xbox One.
After defeating the Big Infected, you will unlock a box that will give you the plan of the “United in fun – everyone can play!” item, which is basically a soccer ball to make. It takes 369 pieces to buildso it can be easily crafted late in the game.
Dying Light 2 is available now for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X and PC. A Nintendo Switch port is due out later this year in 2022.
