Coaches name Whitefish Bay’s Mitchell Dryden Wisconsin Football Player of the Year

Mitchell Dryden (15) of Whitefish Bay celebrates after scoring in the WIAA Division 2 State Championship game against Oregon at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

Mitchell Dryden was a marked man this season, but he still had his best year.

The Whitefish Bay senior forward finished with 27 goals and career highs in assists (15) and points (69) as he led the Blue Dukes to second place in the division’s men’s football tournament 2 of the WIAA. The Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association recognized his game by naming him player of the year on their state team.

Dryden is the first Bay player to win the award since Matthew Comiskey in 2017.
